AQUILA CAFFE BAR

The first thing I noticed when I arrived at Aquila Caffe Bar was the fit out. There was something immediately inviting about it; the whole front of the cafe was open to the street to take full advantage of the cool morning weather and there was multiple seating configurations to suit any size party. Inside the wood panelling and pretty pot plants made the space feel cozy and outside the tables were back from the street so you can enjoy your breakfast without feeling like pedestrians are staring.
I was there to have breakfast and there was quite a range on offer including three different scrambled egg options, an acai berry breakfast fruit bowl and French toast. I decided to go with the eggs Benedict with bacon and spinach and a cappuccino.
The eggs Benedict was perfect; there wasn't too much spinach or bacon, the rye bread they serve it on was a lovely twist, the eggs were perfectly poached and as I admitted to the waitress I would have happily eaten the hollandaise sauce out of bowl with a spoon if given the chance. The cappuccino sadly suffered from too much chocolate powder however the coffee itself was very nice.
The true stand out though was the service; all of the staff were incredibly attentive. Both myself and the tables around me were served promptly - even as it got busier - and I was very impressed with how polite and friendly everyone was. I also really liked that the takeaway coffee section was separate to the seated section (which has full table service) which really helped keep everything flowing smoothly.
