WE’VE FOUND A SPOT DISHING UP GELATO COCKTAILS AND BACON WRAPPED HALOUMI!

Bacon wrapped haloumi, cheeseburger spring rolls, gelato cocktails and the occasional gnocchi night on the calendar – does it all sound too good to be true? Lucky for you, it’s all real, all delicious and all in one city venue: Aquila Caffe Bar.

If you’ve walked past the casual eatery at 82 Eagle Street during lunch or Friday after work drinks, you’ve probably seen plenty of city workers overflowing out from the tables inside to the breezy patio and wondered what brings them all there every day. Well we’re here to tell you it’s more than just their great toasted sandwiches and ice cold beers – much more.

What brings Aquila’s regulars back every day (some of them even more than once a day!), is everything from breakfast acai bowls and healthy lunch options to saucy pizzas and pastas, and scrumptious bar snacks, all of it dished up fast and friendly using fresh, local ingredients.

For us though, it was the gelato cocktails that first got our attention – who could pass up a post-work espresso martini made with La Macelleria Bailey’s gelato, or a mojito sorbet? And when we found out you can pair them with haloumi fingers wrapped in crispy bacon and cheeseburger spring rolls on a Friday night, our hearts (and stomachs) were sold.

If it’s more something to get you through the day you’re after, Aquila has you covered for breakfast, lunch and dinner – they even do office catering and dish up take home packs of their pizza and pasta! Start your morning off right with classic French toast or chorizo and haloumi scrambled eggs, and come back later for a lunch of their infamous lamb and grilled haloumi in pita bread, or maybe one of their superfood salads.

When dinner rolls round, take a date, take the work crew or just take yourself – deliciously traditional (and some not so traditional) Italian pizzas and pastas are waiting! Split a roast pumpkin pizza with mozzarella, feta, almonds, pesto, garlic and rocket, or order up a plate of beef cheek ragu and keep it all to yourself – along with a side of thick cut rosemary chips.

There’s plenty more to drool over on the menu, along with pop-up dinner events throughout the year, but we’re going to let you find those out for yourself – you know you want to! You’ll find Aquila at 82 Eagle Street, open Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch, Thursday and Friday for dinner, and Saturday for breakfast.
